I remember my dad always saying, “Just because someone has been doing the same thing day in and day out doesn't mean that their way is the best way.”
I have grown to understand that if it doesn't make sense, then challenge it.
So, that brings me to where I am today.
I have explored and studied canine interaction and peoples’ mannerisms for almost 20 years. I help people get a better understanding of their dog, while I sip my latte and study and learn about who their dog is. All the while, keeping my clients and their dog’s needs at the forefront.
My primary learning came from studying dogs in a group setting. This setting was one that I created… the Dog Daycare. Two of my greatest teachers were my 2 dogs, Dez and Max. I started testing and analyzing everything that made no sense to me, like using treats or incorrect training tools. I invested many hours a month researching and assessing other methods and, finding out the character of each dog.
I didn’t stop there.
I implemented the first Street Safety Dog Training program, rescued dogs in New Orleans, wrote a book, and have created the first ‘Kids Dog Baby sitting course. I am the Host of an International Television series and have hosted numerous seminars and training classes along with creating and teaching 6Legs to Fitness.
I take great pride in what I do. I strive to learn daily in my profession and personal life. For those of you who know me, I enjoy my latte with friends and their dogs on walks. But, I always stay true to understanding the dog everyday, as every dog can teach me something new.
I welcome people to walk with me to gain a better understanding and build upon the foundation of respect with their canine companion.
With this, one simple rule must be lived by daily" Have Fun"
