Red Deer

I’ve been there...
I have had a love for dogs for as long as I can remember. I grew up with dogs, however, it wasn’t until I got my own dogs I realized how great of a responsibility it truly is.
I got my first dog Casey – the puggle at the end of 2007, and we got our second dog Zack – (mix breed) a year later. I was under the impression that if Casey had a buddy, things would be easier. Well, he couldn’t prove me wrong fast enough and now we had not only one, but two poorly behaved dogs. I knew our dogs were smart, I mean, I could get them to do any trick I wanted them to do... I just couldn’t get them to behave.
Life became stressful and I felt as though at times the dogs were so out of control, it was ridiculous. Whether it be pulling on the leash, the doorbell ringing, a skateboarder going by, or someone passing by the car – the dogs became unmanageable. I had read numerous training books and bought every training tool possible, nothing worked. I was at my wits end and knew something had to give – this is not how I had pictured life with our dogs. There is no worse feeling in the world than wondering if it will get to a point that your dog may bite someone and his days are numbered.
Finally, I made the call to take the CET course. I had watched Brad’s show and knew that it would be a lot of work but we were due for a change. I knew that I was not the only one out there with misbehaving dogs. I regularly saw dogs surrendered to shelters because the owners felt like they had no other option. This to me was unacceptable.
Now, I am happy to report, that life is not so stressful. With the knowledge I have gained from the course, I truly understand what it means to have a loving respectful bond with your dog. I am excited to work with dogs and their families to show them what an amazing relationship they can have.
