A Changed Dog! Posted: 4 Months ago Karma: 0
I can't believe how much Skipper has improved over the last few days! I'm just so pleased!

After having tried all the collars and harnesses that guarantee to stop dogs from pulling during walks Skipper finally walked with me today! I've been watching At The End of My Leash faithfully for about a month and yesterday decided to try umbilical training. It really worked!! After only two days Skipper's pulling has been reduced so much that a walk that used to take one hour (due to constantly correcting him) we were back home again in forty minutes!

I've heard all the criticisms about Brad's methods and I even thought that perhaps a few weeks elapsed between Brad's visits to homes because the changes were just so drastic. Not true at all! It has changed Skipper from a plough horse to a dog in only two days.

I still have a long way to go but this is just great. Seeing results like this makes all the training worthwhile.

Sounds like it\'s going great, keep up the good work!

Also, be prepared for rebellion. After my husband and I started training with Brad, the first little bit was good, but quickly changed to full on rebellion. Some dogs, not all, but some, will react to the change in rules first with surprise, then try to rebel even more, then they start to even out a bit. There will be ups and downs, so celebrate those ups and don\'t let the downs get to you!

AWESOME!!! Brads methods really do work that fast but as LBrinkworth said be prepared for a rebellion it happens and they sometimes try naughty things still but it gets easier!! If you want to try taking your training to the next level buy Brads book there are lots of helpful things in it that will blow your mind and change your dog for good!! (things not shown on the show)

WAY TO GO ... it's so much fun to see them actually looking at you and really paying attention! Such a rewarding feeling too!!

And yes, be prepared for the rebellion ... just like a kid ... hey it sounded like a great idea, it worked, BUT i can't let them win ... !!!!

Good luck and keep up the great work!

In animal behaviour terms the rebellion is called an "Extinction Burst". It happenes whenever trying to eliminate a behaviour, you will notice a strong increase in the behaviour before it stops. So when the rebellion comes hang on and stick it out, it means you're almost there! I bet alot of people give up at this point, huh? It sure is frustrating lol.

His lordship eh? That made me laugh. Maybe he should be demoted to joker within the house of lords and ladies.
