Hi Everyone,
I am in need of someone inventive or in a similar situation.
My beagle/cocker mix had cherry eye surgery 2 weeks ago, and we just found out today that the surgery didn't take, and he needs to have it again.
One of the reasons it needs to be re-done is my little bugger figured out how to lie on his side and rub the affected eye on the side of the plastic cone (not pawing at it, just rubbing it right on the cone!)
Does anyone know of any alternatives to preventing him from doing this on the 2nd surgery? I have looked everywhere online and found lots of things for preventing biting and licking, but nothing for eyes.
Any advice would be great, thank you!!! Stephanie

maybe an eye patch? Now this also depends on your dog and such, but we had to get the same thing done on our jazzy when we first got her and she would have absolutely nothing to do with a cone.. she went crazy.. but somehow my grandmother taped some gauze over her eye and she was great at leaving that on and not touching it..
also, im sure you were told this by your vet already, but doooo not let him out the window when driving, as that can make it "not take" or make it so they need surgery again. I know its super hard to hold them in the car when you need the window down because its so darn hot but my vet said if she even got a little speck of dust or wind the wrong way, that she would need the surgery again..
