Hi there,

I have never had to use it but my old neighbour did. She got a pup who at 6 months old was diagnosed with severe hip dysplasia. The vet told her he could do surgery at a cost of $3000 per hip I belive, and she would still walk with a limp her whole life. Mary decided to go with a chiropractor, and drove her 2.5 hours to Calgary two times per week for several months. You would not believe the difference in Maggie though! It was amazing...she could run with the other dogs and walked with just barely a noticeable limp. So impressive, considering the vet said even with surgery she would still have a fairly bad limp and not be able to run!

Those are the kinds of success stories i was reading online about it that is what gave us the idea in the first place because he is 9 yrs old and cant afford to go under the knife unless its life or death we are looking into other ideas. Before his fall he had a slight limp and has always favored his right back leg then after his accident ( he banged his back geting into my truck and has not been able to walk properly since and its been 3 weeks ) So off we go to spend $300.00 on xrays and then off to spend (not sure how much) on his chiropractor appointments Just hoping he will be a cantidate.

I swear by my chiropractor, and she said that most chiropractors can adjust animals, they just have to do it with a vet present. I am not so lucky that my vet is a believer, and since the next one is too far away, I'm out of luck!

Good luck to you!

My vet is also a canine chiropractor. I know you\'re in BC, but maybe if you emailed her, she might be able to help a bit, or at least let you know what best to look for in a chiropractor. Her name is Dr. Emily Durbin, and she works out of Southridege Veterinary Clinic in Ridgetown. I think the website for the clinic is www.ckvets.com.

Well his referal papers are in and his appointment is tomorrow at 4:45pm so (crossing our fingers) this will help him we are hoping he is one of the dogs that comes around after the first visit (not that we would stop going after the first visit anyway but would be nice for him to get some relief) Cant wait I will keep y'all updated
