Help!! My 15 week old black lab puppy is showing very serious signs of food aggression. Whenever she is given a bone or finds something of interest (in the park, backyard etc) she will not let anyone come near her. If someone does approach her, she snarls and snaps and has bitten me, my husband and members of my family. We have tried exchanging the bone with something equally appealing to try and get her to give it up but she won't budge - she's very possessive. I need to know if this is something we can break her of and what I should try next - other than expensive consultations with professional trainers - we aren't opposed to going that route but would like to try and do it ourselves if possible. I'm very sad that this may have been caused by something we did (or didn't do) in the last few weeks since we got her. Please provide any guidance you can.....

Download the first 2 chapters of synergy free from the home page. Don't let your 15 week old puppy push you around, do not negotiate with her. If she reacts like that take it away and waiit for about 10 minutes to give it back. Let her know that everything she has is yours and you are just letting her have it. Be patient, I know those puppy teeth are like razors, but she is still learning on where she fits in the pack, make sure let her know. Good luck.
