Hello, i just want to let you know, dont get discouraged. I know it shows on the movies and you see other friends dogs going to the door to say "let me out, let me out" but some dogs dont. I know a few dogs (probly 4 or 5) that don't go to the door to be let out, they show other signs. Have you noticed anything your dog does just before she releases her bladder.. some things to look for could be pacing, sniffing the floor, walking in cicles, bugging you a bunch.. almost like when a kid has to pee, when they are playing and think.. oooh i gotta go now and stop playing to look around for a bathroom or a mother. you have to really watch your dog for signs that he/she wants to go out as every dog will show it in a different way.
personally with our terri-poo, she doesn't go to the door to be let out. ours will do many different things, like:
-licking our face
-hitting our nose with her paw, or our face
-sticking her nose in our ear (when we are sleeping and when she reaaaally has to go)
- and one more thing i have never seen a dog do, if she does one of these and we dont notice it, she will either grab the tv remote out of our hands or off the table and bite it and drop it right infront of the door.. kind of saying, pay attention to me not the tv because we know if the remote isnt on the table when we want to change the channel, better run cuz jazzy wants out.
dont get discouraged, it will come with time.. it took my aunt 9 months before her dog was mostly housetrained, she is now a little over a year and still has a few occasional accidents if they arent paying enough attention to her
