Timothea, I just started raw myself a week and a half ago with my 4 1/2 month old German shorthaired pointer and it's had its challenges. I've found she's been coughing stuff up more since starting on it for sure, but it's usually more just some gagging or coughing and then she swallows whatever just came up. I know, gross! She's not being picky at all, but I've found if I give her something she can chew on for a while, she does much better with keeping stuff down. I bought some chicken thighs that she didn't even bother chewing, which I did not expect. The beef ribs I've been giving her are great though. Enough meat on there to give her the nourishment she needs, but they're tougher than chicken so she has to work to get the meat off, and so can only get little bits at a time. Takes her a good few hours to get the bone all cleaned off, and then she just likes to sit in the grass and lick and chew on the bones. I'm going to start her on a new meat next week, maybe lamb or some bison, which is readily available in Alberta. Your pup might just be adjusting to the new diet and having a few digestive growing pains. She is pretty young still so I would give it some time and things will probably settle down. When we first brought our puppy home, she was on kibble that we got form the breeder and she upchucked a fair bit, I think just because she ate so fast and sucked a lot of air and then would gets burps and hiccups after she ate. Then she would burn around playing so I'm sure that didn't help to settle her stomach! I find that because our pup is a hunting dog, she uses her nose a LOT and sucks a lot of air while she's eating. Probably ends up in her belly and forces some of the food up. Maybe the same is happening with yours.
