Posted: 1 Month, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 9   Hey all, Ella and I are headed off on our BC adventure tomorrow and I am wondering about things on the coast. If she swims in the ocean do I need to hose her down with fresh water afterwards? I can't wait to see how she reacts when she sticks her tongue in the salt water! Are most beaches off-leash? Posted: 1 Month, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 2   Hey Scout, The first few times we took our dogs to the ocean they still drank some of the salt water and got the worst case of diarrhea I think I've ever seen, but they know now. We take them to a place that has fresh water running into the ocean when the tides going out, so they know to wait until then to drink it. Not sure about the beaches where your going to be but yes where we go is a huge area where they can just run and not worry about it especially when the tide is out.
