Hi!
Maybe a silly question but since I've never been to his seminar, I was hoping to bring my 9yr old ...He shares my interest in dogs and training.
Of course, he would love to meet Brad since he watches along with me...

What do you guy's think?

Great idea. Get him on board now and further his interests. Could only be a good thing. He can tell his classmates and spread a greater interest in the well being of our furry friends.

My friends 10 yr daugther went to the one Edmonton and loved it.. It is important to let everyone know how important it is.. and particpate as a family..

Although, I wish financially, I could bring everyone. I thought I\\\'d reward the kid that helps me most with our animals and without complaining!

Yeah that was my daughter who went and she also came with my to the Street Safety the next day. She will tell you that she had the time of her life and learned more about dogs in those 2 days than in all the reading she did. She thinks more kids should go to experience it!

If you don't mind your kids listening to a few curse words every now and then ,then it's a great experience bringing them along. I have four kids and could only bring one of them with me due to the price of the seminar. He is 12 years old and was they only kid in the group but he loved meeting Brad and learned so much from him. I think he also loves that he now shares an experience with mom that his siblings don't. It was back in february and he still talks about the seminar. About the cursing well it wasn't to vulgar or anything like that but when brad got upset talking about past experiences with dog owners and such he expressed it. I just kept repeating to my son EAR MUFFS! Definitely take your son he can then encourage they others to get on board to.

I would say, YES, take your child.

We don't have children but when I interviewed Brad prior to going to his classes one of the things I discussed with him was that both my husband and I wanted to come to the classes. We knew we'd both be equally involved in the raising of this puppy.

Brad was the only trainer that I spoke to that agreed that everyone who is in the family should get trained! Some of the programs I looked into would only allow one person to accompany the dog. Of course, Brad said, "That's hogwash!" (well ok he may have used some other word there...)

Anyway, subsequently we attended the street safety 8 week course here in Calgary and on several occasions brought with us our nephews (sometimes one sometimes both); they were 7 and 8 yrs old. The kids and their parents are the 2ndary care givers for our pet because my husband and I travel a lot.

And, BRAD was AMAZING with those kids!!!!!!!! They LOVED him. And, he used them to prove to the adults how easy it was to work with the dogs when following the correct procedures. The kids gave it their ALL and of course Brad always insists we bring our A game so he was happy with them.

It has been soooo very beneficial to the kids and our dog as a result because now there's consistency in methods and expectations no matter where Vegas is staying.

I think you'll be very happy you included your child (either in the 1 day seminar or the outdoor class if there is one afterward).

Well, he'll be coming with me for sure then! There are swear words every where these days. That's no big deal! He's so excited it's cute!
It'll be good mom & son time. Like sassysue said, it'll be great to share that experience with him and to be able to have discussions about it afterwards...
