I'm so glad I brought my 11 year old daughter with me to the seminar--she learned a lot, and has embraced Brad's methods. She has Shiloh on umbilical at least two hours a day, and was so excited yesterday when she dropped the leash, and Shiloh continued to follow her! Now if only I could get her as excited about her school work!!

Thanks again to Brad for coming back to Ontario, and for including the kids so much in the seminar. I know Meaghan came off as being very shy, but she absorbed everything that was said. She can hardly wait to go to school today, and tell everyone about the seminar!

Mel and Meaghan

Sorry you felt that way Rebecca, but in the beginning Brad asked everyone to be up front with him..not to leave early and then say how you feel on the forums..you should have stayed and confronted him and talked through it. Unfortunatley you missed out on a golden oppurtunity. Giving up and running away is not the answer.

I arrived at 6:15 and was not aware that he asked people not to leave early.
However, I am definately a "lover" and not a fighter and don't always agree or welcome confrontation.
I come from along line of passive people (which is probably why my doggies get away with so much).
So for me to stay and confront would have been more dishonest to myself.

People are entitled to their own opions and like I said I do understand Brad and his brutally honest approach.
I just have a far greater respect for those who have been on the show.

Also, I wish that instead of Brad focusing on the things I have done in the past (ie... having 3 dogs) I wish we could have just moved forward and developed a solution.
Obviously the first step is realizing that you have a problem, which is why I came to the seminar. If I was in denial that my 3 dogs were wild I feel that it would be a far worse situation.

Perhaps a Golden Opportunity was missed, however I will keep working at "asserting myself" within my pack of dogs...and hopefully some good will come of this.

12 paws,

We all have things we need to work on. Hind sight, I think we all made mistakes that would make Brad or others cringe. But, as long as we learn from them and move on, that's what counts.

No worries! Post your questions on the forum...and I think you have in the past. There are lots of people with great advice here!

Good luck!

Re:Kitchener Seminar Posted: 2 Months, 4 Weeks ago Karma: 1
Hello to Brad and everyone,

My wife and I unfortunately had to miss the seminar last Thursday due to work however we did see Brad in Toronto this past February. I wanted to share the great success we've had with our dogs, Mason and Daisy, with everyone.
That weekend has totally changed our relationship with our dogs and us as well. My wife and I now work as a team and are on the same page when it comes to the dogs and life in general. We have been totally active in working with the dogs and the results have been amazing. These dogs are AWESOME!! We walk together for at least an hour every day and the dogs never even try to lead anymore. Before Brads training our dog Daisy used to go nuts when we would pass another dog on our walks and now she is totally under control. They both get excited to meet other dogs but instead of fleeing form a social situation we now encourage it. We also take regular trips to the dog park, which has helped a lot. We now understand that part of our dogs hyperactivity and other behavioral issues was that they were starving for playtime and socialization.
We will often run into people on the street and stop and talk about the dogs and the training and the whole time Mason and Daisy will sit there patiently until it's time to go. I swear that I have met more of my neighbors in the last few months than the few years we have lived here.
Our next goal is to go forward with the off leash training. We have started a little bit with the leash hanging and for the most part they are still right beside me the whole time. I'm a little nervous about it but am going to continue working towards our goals.
Anyway, I just wanted to say a HUGE thank you to Brad. You have truly helped us to have a great relationship as a complete family and I am tremendously grateful. And to anyone that may be frustrated or discouraged I give you the same advise that Brad gave us, 'Don't fail the dogs' and keep at it. We can't wait to see you when you come back to our area. Bye for now.

Jordan, Carin
Mason and Daisy

Hi Rebecca,
I am sorry that you felt that way, and I seen that you were very upset when you did leave. Obviously you felt very frustrated at that time. (I was the one that you explained the dog phases to, cause I couldn't really hear Brad speak, my ears were plugged that night). I was waiting for you to tell Brad regardless of how you got the 3 dogs the point is you already have them and are trying to work with them... Anyways I wish you luck with the dogs and I think it is great that you care enough to be willing to try because there are people out there who wouldn't even bother.

Are you going to share that info about the ball?
I\\\'m not really embarrassed that a couple of kids can do things I can\\\'t.

Brad taught Cody to pull up on Abby\\\'s collar and hold...continue to pull up slowly until she releases it. Now the ball drops, Cody\\\'s to bend down while still holding her collar (to pick up the ball), at the position that she released it. This keeps you in control of the dog.

When he tells her to drop she listens to him. She see\\\'s that the running away game isn\\\'t what the kids want. I also had to tell Cody not to run after her for the ball...
Ball hockey with the dog is a great stick handling practice!

I was at the Kitchener Seminar as well. What a great time!!!! I was hesitant about asking questions as he has a way of making you feel a little stupid when it comes to your dog, but none the less, he is great and very funny!!! I wish he would spend more time in Ontario, I'm sure it would be well worth his while, Brad, I hope you are reading this!!!!! I know I would love to attend a class with him and include the dogs. Please Brad, return to Ontario SOON!!!!! Thanks again!

Does Brad teach CET classes? Any in Toronto? Does anyone recommend a specific course, Brad, do you recommend a group in Toronto that teaches the CET course, I'm interested in becoming a trainer. Thanks
