I actually think that posters have been put up at the dog parks. You can find the Ottawa poster on the Seminars page, you can just print it out from there.

I would love to go to the Edmonton seminar, but cannot chance the Highway to hell (Highway 63 from Fort McMurray to Edmonton). Hopefully something will open up in the spring

For the Ottawa Seminar, I did call and speak with the hotel. Beaglemum is right, there is a conference following Brad's which doesnt give them time to clean.
Apart from that, they are fully/overbooked with Winterlude, meaning the hotel will be crazy, hectic, and packed. They cant have pets anywhere but in the rooms designated for them as there are people with allergies ect. ect.

In any case the goal should be to sell enough tickets to get the seminar to come for sure!!!
I posted flyers at all 3 parks (Bruce Pitt, Lansdowne and Conroy) but with the wind and rain today I am sure most are ruined. I put them in plastic casings and pinned them well, but I doubt they held up.

If people want to go post more that would be awesome. I was thinking of calling vet clinics to see if they would be open to posting flyers. Thats my goal for tomorrow. So if anyone is going to the dog parks this weekend, may want to put up more flyers!

I appreciate the fact that many of you in Ottawa would like to bring your dog's but if you do bother the hotel enough they very well could cancel my seminar. This is very unfortunate that we have had such a difficult time to find a venue.

What would be better is put your energy into getting the attendance up. That would be better then annoying the hotel.

I completely agree with Brad, there is so much information to be absored, the seminar will be amazing in any case.
Its a great venue with alot of room, and to find a place during Winterlude is lucky enough!

Hopefully everyone who comes from out of town gets a chance to catch a bit of Winterlude, it is truely amazing. Nothing beats the canal and a beavertail.

I am hoping to canvass dog parks this weekend with flyers and information. If any one else may want to help out, PM me and we can try and set something up. Best to focus energy where it counts... ticket sales!
Considering the Toronto one is this weekend, if Ottawa gets cancelled, we will all miss out... so lets get out there and sell! sell! sell!

I have sent e-mails out to just about everyone I know and posted the posters all over the place. I have a few more places that I am planning to post them, I was also thinking that maybe pet stores would allow us to post as well.

I also agree that bothering the hotel isn't worth it. With Winterlude on, they are not hurting for business. I am just glad that we were able to find a place.

Am I right in thinking that a minimum of 50 tickets needs to be sold in order for the seminar to still run?

Just to add quickly about the Ottawa Seminar...

I had called the hotel only to get the parking information for that weekend. They are fully booked so expect their parking lot to be filled to capacity and with Winterlude, parking may be hard to come by.
The lady did provide me with a map of alternate parking lots and prices in case the hotel lot is full.

If people are planning on driving, I can send alot the map so you can plan a contingency in case the parking lots are full. (Also note parking at meters is not free on Saturdays, so bring your twoonies, loonies and quarters!)

Beaglemum, I was hoping to post at smaller pet stores (ones who dont offer training) like Pet Value and Critter Jungle. I can post flyers at the ones in the West End, where you planning on going to the ones in the East end?
