I loved this episode! It was great to see a little dog gone bad, turned good. Too many little dog owners spoil their dogs and let them get away with everything and Brad showed them the results tonight! This was probably an excellent wake up call for many people! I definitely had parts of it that hit home with my last dog - the pulling on the harness on a flexi-lead who barked at every dog, yes I was one of the owner's (which is why I am training Lindy with Brad's method's)! I loved the truth or dare with roommates! That was a great idea!!!!

The one thing that really hit home and had me in tears tonight was the stuffed animal, which I guess it was supposed to have that impact. I guess it hit home so hard because I have actually seen the results of such with my cousins dog Spud who was run over by a bus, as well as had a very close call happen to Lindy when she was a puppy at a dog park that wasn't properly fenced (just bushes). It made me want to work harder on her recall because I know it's far from perfect right now (which is why she is still on leash most of the time and keeps her leash on at the dog park). We have a long way to go, but I won't give up... and I'm sure classes with Graham will help!!!!

The reality of a dog being run over is NOT funny but the reaction of the group in the episode did make me laugh. They all made the same sound at the same time as though they'd never considered what that might look like for real.

Good show though. I like when Brad brings in peoples friends and family to help with the dog's behaviour. I bet there are more than a few of us who wish those around us would put in some effort too. It's a hard thing to ask though. If you get a dog then I think you should be responsible for the dog. To ask people who never asked to be involved has to be hard to do. Good on the gal tonight who stepped up to bonding with the dogs.

That little dog reminded me of the growling, stalking, wee, white mayhem that Ella and I met on the path last weekend. When Ella barked and lunged back at it and the people screamed and leapt in the air for their lives I kind of had to laugh inside. Just because their dog is 12 pounds and mine is 60 doesn't mean that theirs shouldn't be taught to be non-aggressive too. Ella was putting "Maggie" in her place, but they acted as though Ella was going to attack her for no reason.

Koldridge - I thought of Lindy last night when watching the show! I thought "I bet Lindy doesn't act like that!" From your postings, I know you had some issues with her being a little aggressive too at the beginning, but I know you've done well with her since training " a la Brad"

The show was great - I love the way that they all believed after, that no matter WHO was the owner, they ALL had to take part in training it.
I thought the "dog hater" got a bit of a lesson when she saw that the dog wouldn't come to her!
Good for her to start associating with the dogs in order to become part of the pack!

The show was a good lesson on basic dog manners and proper behaviour.
Another "reminder" class for all of us and a helpfull pack of lessons for anyone who may have watched the show for the first time!
Good wake up call !
Nice one Brad!

I thought tonight was a great episode as well. The only thing that made me look twice was during the talk in the kitchen Brad had with everyone. He had laid the stuffed bloody dog on the counter and there was Whisky, sitting right beside it. ON THE COUNTER. Weird.

I just saw Whisky being on the counter as a need to juxtapose the stuffed animal and the real dog in a place where they could film it with everyone standing around. With larger dogs it's a lot easier to film standing around them, but smaller dogs you have to basically be lying on the ground in order to have your face in the shot. I think this was just a best shooting situation, not a Brad choosing to put the dog on the counter for any other reason.

I was also thinking about the fire scene where both dogs were carried out. I know we're not supposed to carry our dogs, but there have to be times when you break the rules. I think I would do the same thing actually and simply grab her collar and leash (which is kept on top of her kennel and put it on as we go. She never is allowed to be picked up usually, but I think certain emergency situations call for it.

I agree. Of course emergency situations call for other measures. Although, it would be funning to see me carrying my greyhound through the house. Ooh. My poor back.

I suppose because that dog is so small, it's unlikely it's a "counter surfer" so placing the dog up there probably didn't mess with any of the training they were doing. It was just weird to see an animal ON the table.
