Ahhh!! When will it be firm??? Posted: 3 Months, 2 Weeks ago Karma: 4
Have been feeding my dog's Raw for one week now. My 7 mos. old has been eating chicken only and her poo's are still runny and non-stop. I thought chicken firm's the poo! I have been sticking to only chicken for that reason. Is this normal? Will it change soon??? Was up 3 times to let her out last night and she has gone at least 4 more time's this morning. Everyday is like this. Should I give her something else?

I know she is not sick, because she is still as playful as ever. Appreciate any help!!!

I have been feeding my 2 yr old beef and he is having the best poo's ever. The "hardly any" kind, if you know what I mean........

I know it can take up to 2 weeks for the kibble to "detox" in their system. Are you feeding bony peices of chicken?

Yes, I have been feeding her legs and thighs (bone and all) So she is going through detox. OK, I will just wait it out. Can you suggest any other meat with bone I should be feeding her?

My "carpet cleaner" is getting a workout this week!!!!! So am I...

Lamb is good..if you have an A&P, they seem to be really good at getting lamb stew meat or neck bones so there's still bone. It's not too pricey and I know lamb is Bayley's fave meat. You can also get pork neck bones but I'd be inclined to wait till the poops firm up before trying pork as it can make them a little loose and it sounds like you want to go the other way right now!!

I would just wait it out.. that too shall pass.
If she seems healthy and full of energy, she just might be taking longer to adjust.
But when she does, it'll be worth it.
Try and find the thread "what was your first week of raw like"

Yay! Finally firming up. Thanks guy's for all the info. I read "First week on Raw". Helped with my anxiety!! My husband is still having a hard time with this "Raw" thing, so I'm pretty much alone when it comes to feeding our dog's (and cleaning up after them!!!) So when my pup was crapping all over the place, had to deal with alot of questions and concerns from him which made me wonder if I had done the right thing by switching. I knew it would be an adjustment for the dog's and I, but am still glad I made the decision to throw out the kibble.

I'm sticking with it!!!!

Thank's again for all the advice.....I'm sure I'll be back for more!!

Guess she was just teasing me!!! Had a couple of day's of firm poo but overnight and this morning she's back to runny. This morning I discovered half of a chicken leg bone, intact...Ouch!! Didn't seem to bother her, coming out. Right direction, I guess...She's eating alot of grass and throwing it up as fast as she can eat it.

Should I be concerned about the chicken bone? I would be less worried if she had thrown it up instead. Seem's alarming to me that it passed through the other end.....

Is you dog gulping the food or taking the time to chew?
If gulping, I'd suggest to feed larger pieces of eat (with bone) to MAKE her HAVE to chew it.

Don't worry about what passes through your dog.
My dog once chewed 1 tail off each of his Kong Wubba toys ( 1 yellow 1 blue)
They stayed inside him for 2.5 days - the blue one "passed through" the yellow on he threw up

My dog is chewing her meat, at least I think so. I hear alot of crunching and it seems to take her a while. I'll keep an eye on her for a couple of day's.

Do you think it is safe to give her Pork Hock's for supper? Should I keep with the chicken, until her poo firms up? I've heard Pork Hock's softens and harden's up the poo. Which one is it?
