Hi all,

I have same kind of issues with my younger Australian terrier, he'll be 4 in few weeks. I also have almost 12 year old bitch, same breed. I had both as puppies.

The male "Uno" has small anxiety when I leave and let him stay free in my apartment. He pees just few drops here and there (not on bed or sofa) but on corners. He has quite large cage and sometimes the dogs even compete which one can sleep in it when I'm at home and the door is open. Uno acts fine all day while in the cage but in Finland it is actually forbidden to keep dogs in crates or cages during days (there are regulations regarding the size of the dog & cage & time). He enters the cage by itself when he notices that I'm about to leave. I feel bad leaving him there, even it is large cage.

I've tried to leave him free for shorter times, some time 1h is ok, some days he can make 3h without marking my drawer etc. but sometimes I'm gone for 30mins and there is few drops. The amount he pees is really small but longer I stay away, more spots he marks.

Good news He hasn't peed into my room for the last two days!! I am so happy!

I am exercising him more in the morning and his "babysitter" is now coming at a fixed time twice a day and of course I got some good help and support from my dog trainer...

I hope everything stays like this....

Thanks for all your support!
