Does anyone know how long the tv show takes to make, not the editing etc.
For example, last night I watched the show about Bosco. At the beginning of the show he was totally out of control, but by the end of the show he was well on his way to becoming a great dog.. Is the difference a matter of a week, 2 weeks or more.
And when Brad's neice took Bosco for a walk, that's just plain Voodoo. LOL

I could have sworn, if it was either Brad or the lady who mentioned it took weeks ( not the exact amount) to get to that point. But last night that episode, gave me tremendous hope.

You see, the Bosco behaviour with all the other dogs is Oreo! At home he is not a barker, but tries when the door bell goes off and new people are walking in the door. I honestly believe its fear based when he is on leash around other dogs, but I have never tried off leash. Well, when he has gone to the groomers, they have dogs off leash waiting their turn, Oreo will come in all gruffly on leash. They take it off, and he is free, he is quiet but you could see scared. He doesn't like being "sniffed", but wants to sniff others.... Silly guy When I come back to pick him up, he is happy and he has always made a friend or two. I even babysat another dog for a week, and after his initial alarm barks, he was fine, so there is hope. This episode with Bosco has made me really optimistic.

If this is the episode that I'm thinking of. I think Brad had mentioned that he flew a dog in and the owner to show that it can be done. It had taken this one dog 14 months to get to where it was at.
So yes there is hope for alot of us, but there is also ALOT of work ahead of some too. I really think it's going to depend on the dog and the behaviour that is being corrected.

I to feel optimistic that there is hope for us in the problems we are correcting as well.

Yes it was the show where he flew them in from Vancouver. The other dog that looked similar to Bosco had been training for 14 months.
I know there are a lot of variables such as the dogs problems, how hard the owners work at it etc. and that there is no Voodoo, just hard work.
Most of the shows seem to have yappy little tyrants for dogs that seem to come around rather quickly. I thought the timeline for having acceptable behaviour was about 2 weeks. by acceptable I don't mean Lassie or Rin-tin-tin but not going crazy at the door, staying off the furniyure. In short, losing their Alpha status.

That show was most interesting, although Lisa looked like she'd had enough with Bosco,I wonder if she views the episode of her reactions on the re runs .she sure was frustrated when Brad got them in the park with other dogs.I did have to laugh at the bleeping her comments out lol.
