I found that a lot of excitement/praise in your voice while moving forward helped me. The martingale with quick tugs to get her attention helped. Just be patient. Just this morning my 15 week pup walked at a proper heal for 15 min of a 30 min walk,,,,,,,that was cool. The rest of the time she wanted to stay 1 to 2 feet ahead of me. As soon as I did a gentle correction she came right back for a minute or 2. It all takes time and most of all patience,,,I'm lucky as I work from home so the dogs go out for 3 to 5 walks a day. Each walk has different route and degree of difficulty. The route that goes close to traffic distracts the pup the most. She wants to sit and watch the cars go by. I let her sit for a few seconds then say come and we move forward. Every time we do this walk the rests are less and less. I think she is trying to figure out why are those things going so fast and noisy. have fun
