Have you tried a crate? Where do you live?

Patience patience patience!

Get your dog into a routine. My dog is 4 months old and while he still has an accident here and there (not very often), he's pretty good at going outside. He goes outside when he first wakes up, after breakfast, is out during the day, after dinner, then right before day and once during the night. It takes a lot - but get used to the signals they give. My puppy jumps up a lot and paws me when he needs to go (which I am doing my best to break him of that habit!) or if I'm in my room and he leaves the room and gets really quiet - I know it's because he's snuck off into the living room and I only have a few moments to intervene!

Brad also writes in his book that if they have an accident in the house, have a one minute conversation with them of why they shouldn't go in the house (seriously... feels like forever) and then ignore them for 15 minutes. Don't look or touch them.

Also, when you take them outside to go, say "go pee!" and then give them lots of praise during and right after they do it.
