She has a dog that eats EVERYTHING in sight, including garbage. He will eat himself sick if given the chance. Message ID: #18571 MayasMom Lil Bow Wow Points: Posts: 131 Re:Garbage eating Posted: 3 Months ago Karma: 2   Your friend's dog needs to learn "Leave It" - once that happens then your friend will have a better chance of getting the dog to drop whatever he has picked up, or is about to pick up. Some breeds are notorious for this bad habit. When in the house then they can trade the bad item for an appropriate item - toy or chewie or whatever. Worse case for when out walking is a muzzle to prevent the dog from picking up/eating everything it finds. This is a problem we have with China, going into the garbage in the bathroom, and stealing anything she can find around the house (clothes, paper). I have started teaching her leave it and were at about 50/50 now after a week and a half of training. sometimes she will drop it, maybe because she thinks im crazy yelling leavvvvveeee it at her, but sometimes if she wants to chew/eat/play with the item she has she won't drop it for the world.. good luck   Report to moderator   Logged     | The administrator has disabled public write access.
