Tennis Balls Posted: 2 Months, 1 Week ago Karma: 2
Okay, I totally understand that Brad doesnt like tennis balls, but does he mean Tennis Balls or "Dog Tennis Balls". I was looking into some of the products that we carry (I work in a pet store) and the tennis balls made by Kane are very popular, some have squeekers some dont, they have different sizes.
They specifically state that theirs are made to not wear on dogs teeth. Now these are pet store tennis balls, made specifically for dogs (and never see a tennis court) and are not the cheap-o dollar store dog tennis balls either.

So. . .
When Brad says 'Tennis Balls' what does he mean?

And yes I know what Brad has said so you dont need to repeat it.
Meaghan

P.S. I would like to hear from someone in contact with Brad (Scott or one of the other moderators maybe?)

I get Bayley the Air Dog tennis type balls. I have yet to see her break one and pull any fuzz off it. Even a good regular tennis ball she can break in a few minutes and then rips the fuzz off them.

Brad means tennis balls - the kind with the felt on the outside - squeaky thing or no squeaky thing if it has the felt on the outside, it will wear the dogs teeth down.

Is the problem with dogs who chew them, or with all dogs?

Bear doesn't chew on tennis balls - he chases them outside, but once we're inside he doesn't even look at them. Is it alright if all he's doing is catching them and bringing them right back?

My dog has two of those ropes with knots in a couple places that have a tennis ball looped on the rope , one for indoors one for out lol, she likes to chew on the rope and swing them around and retrieve them, she doesnt even notice the balls, should i be taking these away as well?

the problem is when the dog is chewing the ball, as the felt wears down their teeth really quickly, think nail file on teeth. Personally, we dont do any tennis ball type toys at all, Molly has a street hockey ball from Canadian Tire ($1 a ball) they are are orange ones. So to answer your question, personally i would if it doesn't damage the rope!

Why not use Baseballs? That's what we use and have had no problems! We can throw them far enough.

Do the orange balls from canadian tire fit into a chuck-it? I have been looking for an alternative to tennis balls for ages, but nothing seems to fit into the chuck-it!!

We have one that fits into the chuckit, it's just one of those orange street hockey balls. It was a little tight at first, but after a few times using it, it fits in there fine
