Belleville & Area

I have always felt a deep connection with animals. I was always feeding all the neighborhood animals, and adopting stray cats when I was a kid. A few years ago, my brother had a litter of puppies, and gave me the pick of the litter. I knew I had a huge responsibility, so I called every trainer in the book. In the following years, I’d enrolled in puppy classes, obedience classes, studied information on the internet, read a lot of books and bought a lot of different collars which led to very small successes that turned out to be temporary. I was getting desperate for a method that gave lasting results. Then, one day I came across the TV show “At The End Of My Leash”, and I immediately loved Brad’s no-nonsense approach – holding both owners and dogs accountable for their actions. He was able to speak to dogs without actually saying anything at all. I called a local CTE in my area, and had a private lesson which changed my life forever. I knew this was what I wanted to do. As soon as I heard that a CTE course was happening in my area, I enrolled right away. The tools and techniques I’ve learned in Brad’s course will give you the education to handle your dog in any situation. By empowering dogs and educating owners you can have the relationship you always wanted with your canine friend. Classes are taught around strange new smells, loud noises, with other dogs and strangers walking around. This type of environment usually brings the dog true colors out and owners are usually surprised to meet who their dog for the first time. With lots of work and determination you can have a wonderful and fulfilling life with your best friend. This is exactly what I was looking for, and I want to help teach those people who might be looking for the same things that I was. |

For two years I worked on training my dog in 'basic obedience' using traditional methods of treat training, prong collars and head halties. My dog heeled perfectly by my left side for one year and I figured he must be good enough to behave without the special collar or treat rewards. To my dismay, it was obvious my dog learned absolutely nothing. The lack of education and mental stimulation for my dog resulted in socially unacceptable behaviors that eventually led me to seek help from a dog behaviorist who perscibed an anti-depressant to control his so-called 'reactivity'. I felt down by the support systems available for dogs and their owners. I wasted time, money, effort and most dis-heartening of all - I had failed my dog. This is when I learned about Brad and his methods. After attending one of Brad's seminars, I began applying some of the methods I had learned. Within a few months, my dog was off the behavior modification drugs and no longer had to endure the painful prong collar, annoying head halty, or need to be bribed with treats. I decided to become a Brad Pattison CTE to provide other dog owners the opportunity to learn how to educate their dog using methods that are effective and healthy for the dog's overall well being.
