I grew up a mid-west “farm boy” with many animals milling about…pets mostly (horses/dogs/cats/a cow/chickens and even peacocks and raccoons!). That was a blast as a kid but it was in my teen years while growing up at an “outward bound” school where we worked with sled dogs (Huskies and Malamutes) that I started to learn about the way animals interact with us, and each other.

My friendship with Brad Pattison began in the 1980’s.  It was his enthusiasm, tenacity and determination that I watched over the years which developed his passion to create what I see as a better way for dogs and their owners.  I also was able to be close to Brad and his dogs and even work with them through many parts of the development of Brad’s techniques. As I look back. I realize now how amazing the experience of this growth and development was and that I really HAD to be involved.

It feels good to work with dogs. I want to see more people genuinely happy with their pets. Not just walking them on a schedule, but working with them, playing with them and enjoying and learning with them at every opportunity.

I believe that the standard that has been set for us in this area is sub-par and through implementing Brad’s methods we can set the bar higher than ever and narrow the gap between dogs and humans in understanding each other’s needs.  I have a desire to help people find new happiness with their pets and families and most of all I want to see fewer incidents of hurt, to both dogs and humans.

As a C.E.T. I look forward to helping others and to continue learning at every opportunity…oh and having a little fun while doing it!
