I have started taking my dog out of her crate during the day. The first week she was fine, but now the house has been a bit of a disaster. What now?

You need to wean the dog off. You don’t ever want to use the crate or kennel as a form of punishment. So, you will want to crate the dog for a day, then let it out another day, mix it up. When you are home, expose the dog to different scenes so their brains are being exercised too. Take your dog different places. Downtown, to stores that allow dogs, to the bank, different parks. Get them exposed to different scents, sounds and sights. Find different ways to ask them to sit. My clients are taught 3 different ways to start. Snap, pull up on the leash and the verbal command of “Sit”.
